🎉 Congratulations! 🎉 Prof. Sammy Lap Ip Chan from the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at National Central University has been elected as a 2024 Fellow of the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM)! 🏆👏

A Prestigious Recognition in Materials Science

Founded in 1992, the Asia Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM) is the highest research institution for materials science in the Asia-Pacific region, with global influence. The academy fosters collaborations among countries and regions, promotes innovation and entrepreneurship, and supports government-backed talent development in materials science and engineering.

Election to APAM Fellowship

APAM selects outstanding scientists biennially from 12 participating countries and regions, including Russia, South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, India, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. Fellows are chosen based on their groundbreaking research contributions in fundamental and applied materials science, industrialization, and education.

Prof. Sammy Lap Ip Chan was honored for his outstanding achievements in hydrogen energy research, making him one of seven distinguished scholars elected this year:

Prof. Sammy Lap Ip Chan’s Contribution to Hydrogen Storage Research

Before joining National Central University in 2021, Prof. Chan taught at National Taiwan University and the University of New South Wales, Australia. Upon joining NCU, he established a world-class hydrogen storage laboratory, securing NCU's leading position in Taiwan’s hydrogen storage research.

His achievements include:
